Las Vegas WEEKLY reports that ‘12 Inches of Sin’ returns to Sin City Gallery

12" of Sin Erotic Art

Featuring “UV Liquid Gold” by Robert Babylon as their promotional image the “12” of Sin Exhibition” can be seen at the Sin City Gallery in Las Vegas. Following a spectacular opening reception on 3rd April (with the party artwork also by Robert Babylon) the exhibition itself runs through to May 18, Wednesday-Saturday, 1-7 p.m. Sin City Gallery, Arts Factory, 608-2461.

Sin City Gallery, Las Vegas’ home to erotic art, opens its third-annual 12 Inches of Sin exhibit April 3, featuring works plucked from 250 entries from 18 countries, each abiding by the same rule: 12 inches or less. Along with its sidekick exhibit, Le Salon des Refusés du Péché, the show—which only requires work to be no larger than 12 inches in any dimension—celebrates sexuality in all forms, positions, media, viewpoints and camera angles.

Painting, sculpture, photography and cartoon illustrations tap into the humorous, sentimental, abruptly literal and political. Even C-3PO from Star Wars makes an appearance, in an acrylic-on-canvas painting by Poland’s Janusz Orzechowski, who has the droid eyeing a line of nude female mannequins. It’s an event that awarded its first Best in Show to Allan Teger’s “Mountain Climber,” a black-and-white photograph from Teger’s Bodyscapes series of tiny climbers scaling a woman’s breast. Jeff Wack’s photo/digital painting “Oceana” was the Best in Show winner for 2013. And this year’s Best in Show award went to JP Rakehorn of London for his mixed-media “Double Cross,” featuring a couple in an emotionally tormented embrace.
